Growing up in Eastern Europe, I was accustomed to the delicate beauty of the crochet doilies all over the house, the elegant garments and apparels that my grandmother would create for the whole family....Back then, of course, I could not appreciate the precious beauty of it all, the many hours of work it took to create these now works of art! Back then, I was longing for something that was made in a big factory in a distant country. Today...I am longing for those days, for the loving tired hands of my dearly loved grandmother, for the beauty and the magic of that lovely dress that she diligently crocheted for weeks. It was a gift for my 14th birthday. Today in the age of abundance, Asia and automation, tired of the artificiality of this era, I have a yearning for something that besides design will have a personal meaning instilled by the maker, a soul, a bygone fragrance.
Reverentially
Evelina
